Once an Athlete, Always an Athlete

I'm a 40-something mother of 3, former college athlete, and beach volleyball player for years. I have spent the last 9 years regularly doing CrossFit and random half marathons, for fun. To say that I'm a fitness addict is an understatement. I have had a lingering back injury since college, and I assumed it was just "how my body is," and I learned to just deal with it. I've spent years frequenting a chiropractor as my back would go out 3-10 times a year. After having kids, my pelvic floor was wrecked. It was hindering any weight-lifting progress and I often had incontinence in daily life. I'm so thankful I found Erin, as she has changed my life!

Over the last 15 months, I have seen Erin regularly (monthly-ish) and she has changed my body for the better. We began by rehabbing my pelvic floor. And I don't mean to brag, but can confidently sneeze without fear anymore! What I didn't realize at the time, is that I was fixing my lingering back pain I had lived with for over 25 years. By simply doing my prescribed pelvic floor exercises and other PT as needed, I can say that I live with no back pain anymore. Zero! Since I've started with Erin, I have hit personal records in almost all of my weightlifting movements and tied my half marathon time from 10 years ago. Which feels great at age 44! Throughout my treatment, she has fixed issues with my pelvic floor, back, shoulder, IT band, calves, neck, feet, and probably more.

I continue going to Erin on a monthly basis because as a CrossFit athlete, there is always something new I'm striving to complete. But, now my body is actually able to keep up with my goals. I am stronger, faster, and more flexible than ever before. As a lifelong athlete, I assumed that age was coming up on me, but with a great maintenance program that I have found with Erin, I feel like I can continue to keep growing as an athlete.
